I am often asked how Silver Star Associates came to be?

Upon graduation from high school, I enlisted in the United States Army and did a 3-year tour in the Signal Corps as a Radio Operator. At the end of my 3-year tour, and ready to be discharged, I was selected to attend the US Army’s Reserve Officers Training Corp (ROTC) program where I earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. With my new Commission as a Second Lieutenant, I headed to Ft. Sam Huston in Texas where I completed my extensive training as a Combat Medical Officer and now promoted to a First Lieutenant.

After serving 3 years as a Company Commander with that assignment, and newly promoted to a Captain, I was approached by a seasoned Judge Advocate General Corps (JAG) Colonel who said the Army had a critical shortage of JAG Officers. He further said “Don’t worry kid, the Army will send you to law school if you're interested”…..

So it began! I headed to The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School in Charlottesville, Virginia, earning a Juris Doctorate (Law Degree) and commencing my new Army JAG career.

I had several assignments as an Army JAG Officer, with always a focus on government and commercial Legal Contracts and Transactions.

Taking advantage of the Army’s generous education programs, I also earned a Master of Business Administration and a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering with a concentration on Radio Frequency (RF).

Consequent to retiring from the Army, I undertook a position with a global telecommunications company as an In-House Corporate Counsel, focusing on Legal Contracts and Transactions.

This was a wonderful position that I enjoyed, but corporate culture was a far distance from the military structure, regiment and discipline that I had become so accustomed to after decades in the Army…

So, Silver Star Associates was born to be a Sole Practitioner - Professional Services Firm focusing on Routine, Administrative, and Ministerial Legal Services. Our company is not a typical private practice law firm as you may be familiar with, but a small, boutique and specialized firm offering unique, and curated services, that are highly focused, and personalized, differentiating ourselves from larger companies through our niche expertise, unique selection of Routine, Administrative, and Ministerial Legal Services, and a distinctive, intimate client experience, rather than on a mass-market scale.

Subsequently, we are not and do not operate Silver Star Associates as a private practice law firm or offer their services such as; legal advice, legal strategy, legal direction or opinions.
